This position functions as a Section Manager responsible for leading investigations of health care fraud, waste and abuse, as well as training, and overseeing the work of Assistant Inspector General Investigator Field Agents and other staff. The incumbent supervises inspectors, medical utilization analysts, and health care fraud investigators who have responsibility for the most complex investigations into allegations of fraud involving health services programs state-wide, which may result in referral to law enforcement agencies for criminal prosecution. In performing investigations and supervising inspectors, the incumbent performs operation and direct access to mechanized claims processing and information retrieval from systems.This position is responsible for the investigative output of the assigned area, providing direction and support to reach statewide fraud detection and investigation outcomes.
