The Release Engineer drives software build processes to ensure consistent, quick, and reliable packaging and delivery of releases for multiple products to several internal and customer-facing environments. This person also manages, maintains, and improves tools supporting the development teams. The Release Engineer is a member of the Continuous Quality Team, responsible for improving quality and promoting best-practices by collaborating with the development teams.Key AccountabilitiesInsulate sprint teams from owning and developing deployment and build activitiesAdvance release stabilization to reduce overhead by identifying and realizing efficiencies, and standardizing build processesDrive improvement to release packagingManage the development infrastructure/tool set to keep it functional, up-to-date, and introduce new tools to drive further efficienciesProfessional CompetenciesBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or equivalent experience.3+ years of relevant experience in web application development.Very detail oriented, strong, debugging skills with the ability to find the root cause and frame complicated issues for others to quickly understand.Experience with relational databases and stored procedures.Oracle and PL/SQL experience a plusExperience programming in Java.Comfortable using *nix on a daily basis.
